NEW HAMPSHIRE AMATEUR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION (NHASA)
CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT BID PROCEDURES

 

1)    The actual bid must be submitted on the official NHASA bid form.

2)    The bids will be awarded at the annual October meeting, by a majority vote of the Commissioners Council.

a) If at any time during the voting, there are more than three bidders for a tournament and no one receives a majority vote, then the two bidders with the least amount of votes will be eliminated from the next round of voting.

3)    For National Qualifiers the host league must submit a fee of  $15.00 per competing team to the National ASA, upon completion of the tournament.

4)    Each bidder will be advised of the time and place when they may discuss their bid with the Commissioners Council.

5)    If there is only one bid for any particular tournament, the Commissioners Council will make recommendation to the State Commissioner based on available data.

6)    Tournament bids may be awarded two years in advance when the Commissioners Council determines that satisfactory conditions are guaranteed.

7)    In the event that no satisfactory bid is received for a state, regional, or national qualifier, the State Commissioner shall notify all Council members at the December meeting that bids will be accepted until the February meeting and a vote will be taken at that time.

8)    The tournament site must provide the following, at no cost to the NHASA:

a) Good playing facilities.
b) An official scorer at each field for each game.
c) A scoreboard at the main field.
d) A bracket board at the main field.
e) Available field lights.
f) Water for umpires.
g) Field crew to keep site in good playing condition.
h) Police, if necessary.
i) A site contact person to work with the tournament director and umpire in chief (UIC).
j) Umpires, game balls, and trophies for National Qualifiers only.
k.) Must provide some type of rest room facility.

9)    The NHASA will provide the following for state and regional tournaments:

a) Tournament Director and UIC.
b) Umpires.
c) Game balls.
d) All trophies.
e) Scorebooks and line-up cards.
f) $10.00 per participating team for jo and adult tournaments after tournament director determines site has received a favorable rating.
