Doug is starting his 36th consecutive year as the State Commissioner, he is a registered Umpire, has played softball in Keene many years ago and in Franklin prior to moving to Exeter in 1971. He has also been the National Office Representative at nine National tournaments. These tournaments include the Men's ASA Super Slow Pitch, Major Men's and Women's Major Modified pitch, Men's Class A Modified pitch and Women's Industrial Slow Pitch. Doug has also attended fifteen national tournaments including the ones he was an ASA rep. Doug has served two terms as New England Regional ASA Director on the National Board of Directors. He is also a past Chairman of the National Modified Pitch Rules Committee, Finance Committee and Publications Committee. At the present time he is Chairman of the Publications & Relations Committee, Vice Chairman of the Modified Pitch Committee, Redistricting Committee and Trophies and Awards committee. Paul Wilcox is the only person who has served on the staff with Commissioner Dicey the past 34 years. Doug is a native of Keene and lived there for thirty-three years prior to leaving Keene for Franklin, NH and has lived in Exeter for the past thirty years with his wife Jan. Doug is a retired Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Exeter after 31 years of dedicated and loyal service.


NEW HAMPSHIRE COMMISSIONER DICEY HONORED FOR 35 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE ASA

TUCSON, AZ – Doug Dicey of Exeter, New Hampshire ASA commissioner, was among those honored for their service to the Amateur Softball Association at the ASA National Council Awards Luncheon here during the 74th ASA National Council Meeting at the J.W. Starr Pass Resort and Spa.

Dicey was presented a 35-year service award in recognition of his service to the ASA by John Miller, ASA Membership Committee chairman, during the November 15th luncheon, which was attended by more than 440 people. Dicey was one of two persons who received awards for 35 years of service.

In addition to serving as New Hampshire ASA commissioner, Dicey is a member of various ASA standing committees, including Modified Pitch Rules, co-chair of Playing Rules, Tournament Programs and Legislative.

The luncheon was sponsored by Wilson Sporting Goods of Chicago, Il with Mike Jones and Pat Ryan of Wilson attending the luncheon.
